A Little Bit About Us...and Sodding Services, Sod Installation, Lawn Installation

Instant Lawns came to life as an idea in a Tim Hortons on Greenbank Rd across from the local police station. It began with a recognition of two important facts. Firstly, soft-scaping, and in particular sodding, was grossly neglected by landscapers and too often loverlooked despite adding serious return on investiments for homeowners. Secondly, the entire contracting and landscaping industry was saturated with unprofessional, unreliable, inconsistent, phone-neglecting contractors.

Ready for the revolutionary idea? Instant Lawns was born to deliver the lushest, greenest lawns and stunning curb appeal to all. We call this Instant Grassification. Supporting that grassification, we have in place an ethos of customer service. We swiftly answer you when you call or email us, are extraordinarily reliable, always deliver what we promise you (on time AND on budget), hire the best employees, and deliver unparalleled customer service.... kind of refreshing and basic with old-school values eh?

The Creators of Instant Lawns

Adam Sarumi

Master-Marketer extraordinaire and lover of all things green and sod-like, Adam is our resident sod enthusiast and occasional CEO. With an undergraduate law degree from Carleton University, and 5 years in a previous landscaping and handyman company, he brings a great deal of talent to the sod-covered table. Interlocked with his experience is his undying passion for customer service, a great product, and for making Instant Lawns the best company in the industry; so much so that he prefers the use of ‘curb appeal experts’ over landscapers, which have a bad reputation in our books – one that we are trying really hard to overcome!

Alexander Leslie

Guru of numbers, king of cashflow, and all-round business counsel, Alex is Instant Lawns’ first and hopefully only CFO. With a degree in economics from the Royal Military College of Canada and an MBA from Ottawa University’s Telfer School of Management, Alex brings order to chaos and occasionally disciplines the sod for not being green enough. After a 7 year military career, this was the perfect outlet to test his business and leadership skills; the role of CFO also includes HR manager, general problem solver (we dislike the term ‘rainman’ because then the crews can’t work), and all-round saviour of lawn-distressed homeowners.
